This beautiful castle wedding venue is one of Nick's favourite places to film weddings. Nestled in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, not far from Shrewsbury and Telford, Rowton Castle is one of our most visited venues and Nick is proud to be a recommended supplier.
 
Set in 17 acres of lovely grounds, the castle feels like a world away from reality, the perfect setting for a fairy-tale wedding.

Nick first filmed at Rowton back in 2013 and has had the pleasure of filming many weddings here since. For wedding videography Rowton Castle works brilliantly. There are not really any bad angles to be found. Preparations often take place in the Tower House, with plenty of space and lovely natural light. Ceremonies can take place inside or outside – which features one of the longest aisles we've seen! Depending on the time of year reception drinks can take place inside or outside, either option giving plenty of opportunities for candid shots. The Cardeston Suite plays host to your wedding breakfast and as the evening celebrations begin there’s plenty of space for all of your guests to relax and enjoy.

Rowton Castle is first mentioned in the history books as long ago as 1234. Destroyed in the Welsh raids, it was subsequently re-built by the Lyster family in 1482. In more recent times the castle served as a school for the blind, before laying derelict for 8 years. After 3 years of renovations 1989 saw the building open as a luxury hotel for the first time. These days the castle hosts many weddings each year, catering to each couple with an excellent standard of service.

My Rowton Castle top tip is to plan 5 minutes for a quick walk down to the lake for a few photos and videos, a hidden gem, especially at sunset!
